Camp Superintendent – Mine Site Operations

About the role

The Camp Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of camp services at the Tasiast Mine Site. This senior position ensures that housing, catering, laundry, maintenance, and other administrative functions operate smoothly, safely, and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all camp operations, develop budgets, solve problems and control costs.
• Oversee catering, housekeeping, accommodation and related support services, ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual obligations.
• Maintain communication channels, guarantee fresh‑water supply and supervise catering activities.
• Manage camp inventory, including ordering supplies, fuel and equipment, and ensure adequate food and essential supplies.
• Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to implement and follow proper safety procedures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, uphold hygiene standards and ensure a safe environment.
• Supervise on‑site recreation facilities and ensure accommodation meets company standards.
• Lead staff performance, conduct annual reviews and foster a motivated team.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, SLAs and contractual terms.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities, optimise operations and maintain high service quality.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field plus any additional technical training.
• 8‑10 years of experience managing catering, housekeeping, maintenance and administration of remote camps.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
• Demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent organisational, managerial and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
