Cashier‑Clerk (Finance & Accounting)

About the role

We are seeking a Cashier‑Clerk to join our Sheraton hotel in Nouakchott. The role involves handling cash, maintaining financial records, and supporting guest services in accordance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Organize, collect, secure, and maintain all cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Audit house banks periodically according to SOPs and act as liaison with armored car service or banking institution.
• Maintain, distribute, and record petty cash and cashier banks, and prepare paperwork for bank deposits.
• Provide cash to guests, conduct currency exchanges, and prepare tickets for cash banquet functions.
• Document, prepare and distribute reports to department managers.
• Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all cash variances according to SOPs.
• Participate in internal and regulatory audit processes and ensure compliance with SOPs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience in cash handling or finance.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
• Ability to follow company policies and maintain confidentiality.
• Physical ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 15 pounds.
