Applications Engineer – Mining Equipment

About the role

We are looking for an Applications Engineer to support Bradken’s mining product lines, focusing on excavator buckets, ground‑engaging tools and crawler systems. The role is fully remote within Mauritania, with regular travel to customer sites to solve field issues and translate feedback into engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to mining customers and regional sales teams.
• Conduct product performance reviews, field evaluations and warranty‑related analysis.
• Assist in product design, customisation, reverse engineering and improvement projects.
• Create solid CAD models, drawings and simulation inputs, and prepare technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
• Support product trials, testing, validation and capture customer feedback.
• Maintain focus on safety, quality and Bradken engineering standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in design, reliability, application engineering or related technical roles within mining, construction equipment or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and clear communication with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently (50‑75% of the time) and hold a valid driver’s licence.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
