Finance and Support Services Director

About the role

The Finance and Support Services Director provides overall leadership, oversight and management support for all financial functions of the World Vision Mauritania Field Office. As a strategic partner on the Senior Leadership Team, the role ensures accountability, stewardship and sound financial planning aligned with programme objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Finance Department, including Finance, ICT, Fleet and Administration staff, ensuring recruitment, retention and capacity development.
• Develop and implement financial strategies, budgeting processes and internal controls in line with World Vision policies.
• Oversee fiscal accounting, compliance, reporting and audit preparation, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to review purchase requests and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Manage ICT infrastructure, office security, fleet operations and asset disposal according to organisational standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a senior finance management position within a medium‑size NGO or similar organization.
• Proven leadership ability to motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of financial risk management, internal controls and audit processes.
