Heavy Duty Mechanic Trainer - Mobile Equipment

About the role

The Heavy Duty Mechanic Trainer will develop and deliver training programmes for heavy‑duty mechanics working on mobile equipment at Tasiast. The role combines classroom instruction, hands‑on workshops and on‑the‑job assessments to ensure participants achieve full competency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, facilitate and assess Heavy Duty Mechanic (HDM) training in classrooms and workshops.
• Develop and maintain competency‑based assessment tools and test material.
• Set up training workshops and classrooms that meet Tasiast requirements.
• Record and report learning outcomes in the company Learning Management System.
• Provide technical support and advice to meet customer learning and development needs.
• Promote and model Tasiast/Kinross health, safety and environmental standards.
• Coach and mentor individual learners, adapting delivery to one‑on‑one or group settings.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience delivering technical training to heavy‑duty mechanics.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and competency‑based training.
• Ability to work with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Commitment to safety, health and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Heavy‑duty equipment maintenance and repair.
• Competency‑based assessment development.
• Use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking progress.
