Project Controller – Accounting

About the role

INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Controller – Accounting to join its project team in Mauritania. The role focuses on financial and accounting control of large‑scale EPC and renewable energy projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, budgeting and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control project budgets, actual costs, commitments, accruals, provisions and forecasts.
• Perform cost calculations, allocate expenses to cost centres and work packages, and analyse budget vs. actual variances.
• Validate invoices, purchase orders and subcontractor payments, and coordinate posting of costs with Finance.
• Prepare monthly cost forecasts, financial reports, dashboards and support cash‑flow forecasting.
• Monitor financial impact of change orders, variations and claims, and ensure compliance with accounting policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project accounting, cost control or financial controlling within EPC, construction or renewable energy projects.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Fluency in English; French and/or Arabic an advantage.
• Willingness to be based onsite in Mauritania.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Knowledge of project control tools like Primavera P6 or Power BI.
