Wolof Language Expert (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Wolof Language Expert to support the development of next‑generation AI systems. Working remotely, you will provide high‑quality translation, localization and original content in Wolof that will be used to train and improve language models.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize diverse content between Wolof and English at an expert level.
• Edit and proofread Wolof materials to ensure clarity, grammatical correctness and cultural relevance.
• Write original Wolof content following project style guides and requirements.
• Provide linguistic feedback to enhance AI language models and training datasets.
• Collaborate with project managers, linguists and engineers to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews to maintain accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
• Communicate clearly with team members to resolve linguistic queries.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Wolof with deep knowledge of idiomatic expressions and cultural nuances.
• Proven experience in editing, writing and translating Wolof content.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with linguistic data annotation is a plus.
• Effective time‑management and ability to prioritize tasks under deadlines.
