Camp Superintendent

About the role

The Camp Superintendent reports to the Camp Manager and is responsible for overseeing all camp services at the Tasiast Mine Site. This role ensures that housing, catering, laundry, maintenance and other administrative activities run smoothly, safely and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Manage camp operations, develop budgets, solve problems and control costs.
• Oversee delivery of catering, housekeeping, accommodation and related support services, ensuring compliance with company standards and contracts.
• Maintain communication channels and guarantee essential services such as fresh‑water supply.
• Control camp inventory, order supplies, fuel and equipment, and ensure adequate food and essential items.
• Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to implement and follow proper procedures.
• Monitor camp premises, conduct preventive maintenance and uphold hygiene and safety standards.
• Supervise recreation facilities and ensure accommodation meets company standards.
• Lead staff performance, conduct annual reviews and promote efficient, safe and environmentally responsible work.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, SLAs and contractual obligations.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical training.
• 8‑10 years of experience managing catering, housekeeping, maintenance and administration of remote camps.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and motivate teams.
