Consultant, Migration Data Analysis and Route Snapshot

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an independent consultant to analyse and synthesise migration data across multiple sources, producing a consolidated route snapshot for Mauritania. The assignment runs from 1 October to 15 December 2026 and is fully remote, with payment based on agreed deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess documentation for each data source provided by the DTM team.
• Evaluate geographic and temporal coverage, granularity, consistency, and known limitations.
• Harmonise geographic and administrative references across Mauritanian and neighbouring‑country datasets.
• Develop an analytical framework and detailed analysis plan.
• Prepare an inception report (Deliverable 1) by 14 October 2026 outlining findings and methodology.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work independently and meet strict delivery dates.
• Experience in data analysis and editorial production related to migration or humanitarian contexts.
• Familiarity with multi‑source data integration and geographic harmonisation.
