Demi Chef de Parti

About the role

The Demi Chef de Parti supports the kitchen team in delivering high‑quality meals at our Sheraton hotel in Nouakchott. You will work closely with the Chef to prepare special dishes, maintain food safety standards, and ensure smooth service during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration, portion, arrange and garnish dishes, and maintain accurate food logs.
• Communicate with the Chef about excess inventory for daily specials and inform service staff of menu updates and out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching kitchen staff.
• Follow all safety, security and hygiene policies; report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect company assets and confidential information.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
