Finance and Support Services Director

About the role

The Finance and Support Services Director provides strategic leadership for all financial functions of World Vision’s Mauritania Field Office. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, the role ensures robust financial stewardship, accurate reporting, and alignment of financial resources with programme objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance team, strengthening capacity and ensuring compliance with World Vision policies.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow monitoring and financial analysis for the field office.
• Develop and implement internal controls, risk‑management procedures and asset safeguarding mechanisms.
• Coordinate planning and budgeting processes, providing timely and accurate financial data to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, including the use of Sun Systems and ProVision.
• Represent finance in cross‑cultural, multi‑national environments and support travel as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of finance experience in a medium‑size business, NGO or government agency.
• At least 3 years in a senior finance management position.
• Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, produce pragmatic solutions and manage innovation.
• Fluent in French (written and spoken) and proficient in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computerized accounting systems, preferably Sun Systems and ProVision.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring and internal controls.
• Experience in financial planning and forecasting.
