Marine Technician – Offshore & Cargo Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Technician to join a major maritime company operating in Mauritania. The successful candidate will work on cargo vessels, FPSOs and LNG carriers, ensuring safe and efficient bridge and cargo operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Officer of the Watch duties on deck, including bridge and cargo watchkeeping.
• Monitor and control loading and discharging of oil, chemical or LNG cargoes at hydrocarbon terminals.
• Apply STCW and ISPS procedures to maintain vessel safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support offshore FPSO operations and coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Execute Control of Work processes during cargo handling and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Proven verbal and written English proficiency.
• Officer of the Watch (Deck) certification – STCW II/3.
• Minimum 6 months sea time on cargo vessels with bridge and cargo watchkeeping experience.
• Basic training for oil tanker and/or LNG cargo operations.
• Recent seagoing experience of more than 12 months.
• STCW Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Operations (Reg. V/1‑1, Advanced level).
• Desirable: ISPS certification, 2 years as Officer of the Watch with STCW II/1 (unlimited) and Dangerous Cargo Endorsement.
