Space Applications Expert, Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation (EO) services and applications, with a focus on solutions that leverage Copernicus data to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver EO services and applications using Copernicus data and products.
• Support policy dialogue and knowledge exchange between African and European institutions.
• Facilitate private‑sector engagement and investment in EO solutions.
• Promote user uptake of EO services in sectors such as early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management and biodiversity.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to African partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services, preferably with Copernicus data.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.
• Experience working with African institutions and promoting user uptake is a plus.
