Assistant Manager – Security & Loss Prevention

About the role

Assist in managing daily security and loss‑prevention functions for a Sheraton hotel in Nouakchott, protecting assets, guests, and employees while supporting the operating budget.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hazard and risk assessments, quarterly OSHA/Safety audits and incident tracking.
• Supervise patrols, emergency response, investigations and key control procedures.
• Maintain logs, certifications and legal documentation required by SOPs.
• Handle complaints, resolve disputes and promote guest and employee satisfaction.
• Assist with training, first‑aid programs, claims processing and liaison with local law enforcement.
• Oversee human‑resources activities such as interviewing, training, performance appraisals and attendance monitoring.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with 3 years security experience, or Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice with 1 year experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations and OSHA standards.
• Ability to conduct investigations, manage incident reports and enforce key‑control guidelines.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work with guests, employees and external agencies.
