Electrical Maintenance Trainee

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking a motivated Electrical Maintenance Trainee to join its Operations & Maintenance team at a power plant in Nouakchott, Mauritania. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in plant operations, maintenance, safety, and asset management while working alongside seasoned professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily mechanical and electrical maintenance and operational activities at the power plant.
• Assist the maintenance team in learning power‑plant equipment and best‑practice procedures.
• Participate in planning and execution of preventive, corrective and scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Follow plant safety procedures and operational standards.
• Help with plant reporting, scheduling, testing and other operational documentation.
• Support logistics, spare‑parts handling and inventory management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or Engg) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Graduated in 2025 or later (fresh graduate).
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Good computer literacy and proficiency with standard office applications.
• Mauritanian nationality.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (or equivalent standard office applications).
