Energy Expert – Renewable & Gas Projects (Mauritania)

About the role

The client seeks an Energy Expert to provide technical leadership and coordination for the Energy Compact Delivery and Monitoring Unit under Mission 300 in Mauritania. You will guide renewable and gas‑based generation initiatives, ensuring they align with national electrification and transition targets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical advisory and strategic guidance across solar, wind, hydro, and gas‑based generation projects.
• Review and evaluate energy project proposals, supporting bankability assessments and due‑diligence processes.
• Conduct tariff analysis, grid integration studies, and contribute to the development of technical standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Prepare technical reports, briefing notes, presentations, and monthly progress and risk mitigation reports.
• Support coordination committees established under Mission 300 and deliver required inception, progress, and completion reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in renewable energy and/or gas‑based generation.
• Proven experience across power generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
• Experience working with government institutions, private developers, financiers, and development partners.
• Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
