Event Coordinator (Food & Beverage)

About the role

The Event Coordinator will support the Sheraton Nouakchott in delivering seamless banquet and group events. Working closely with the group coordinator/host, you will ensure all guest requirements are captured, set‑ups are prepared, and service standards are upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with group coordinators/hosts before functions to introduce yourself and confirm arrangements.
• Read and analyze banquet event orders to gather guest information, determine setup, timelines, buffet and action‑station needs.
• Respond to special banquet requests, follow up to ensure compliance, and adjust plans as needed.
• Maintain compliance with company safety, security, and appearance policies.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and provide courteous, professional interaction.
• Answer telephone calls using proper etiquette and communicate clearly with internal teams.
• Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Perform physical duties such as standing, walking, lifting objects up to 25 lb, and navigating service areas.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in food‑and‑beverage or event coordination.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
