Excel Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Excel Specialist to lead data operations across our finance, marketing and operations teams in Africa. Working remotely, you will design and maintain advanced spreadsheet solutions that turn raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Develop and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Create dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100 % data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into clear visual reports and train remote cross‑functional teams on using the tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines across African time zones.

Required skills

• Expert‑level mastery of Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• Strong experience creating VBA macros and custom scripts.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL databases and data‑visualisation principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving, attention to detail and communication skills.
