National Security Coordinator

About the role

The National Security Coordinator supports the National Director in safeguarding World Vision Mauritania’s programs. This position leads the development and implementation of security strategies, ensuring a safe environment for staff and beneficiaries across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the national security strategy in line with World Vision policies.
• Conduct security risk assessments, maintain country risk ratings, and enforce core security requirements.
• Lead and manage country security focal points, providing guidance during crises and critical incidents.
• Represent World Vision in local NGO security networks and share relevant intelligence.
• Design and deliver capacity‑building activities, including fire safety, first aid, and security awareness training.
• Prepare regular security reports for the national office, regional hub, and corporate security team.
• Investigate security incidents and ensure compliance with reporting procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security management within an international or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and incident reporting.
• Excellent communication and liaison abilities with external partners and NGOs.
