Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer (Freelance – On‑Call)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to provide Break & Fix support on an on‑call freelance basis. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, network and virtualization incidents for enterprise customers while delivering professional service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote Break & Fix support for networking and infrastructure incidents.
• Deploy, configure and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization and network issues.
• Resolve network connectivity problems (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Implement and support backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking or IT support engineering.
• Valid CCNA certification with at least 90 % score on the induction assessment.
• Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Ability to work independently in customer‑facing environments.
• Professional demeanor and strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Nutanix AOS, AHV and Prism.
• VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
• TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• PowerShell and/or Python scripting.
• CCNA certification.
• Optional: Nutanix NCP certification, AWS, Azure, GCP, Ansible, Terraform.
