Project Manager – Mauritania Mining Project

About the role

Paramount Matter Holdings is launching its gold exploration project in Mauritania and seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead on‑the‑ground execution. Based in Nouakchott and the project site, you will be the key liaison between the company, local authorities, and partners, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day execution and operational activities of the Mauritania project.
• Coordinate with government authorities, regulators, and local partners to secure permits and ensure compliance.
• Manage local staff, contractors, and suppliers, overseeing procurement and logistics.
• Support the Country Manager with project budgeting, scheduling, and administrative matters.
• Provide timely updates and reports to senior management and handle ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Fluent in Arabic (primary) and French (secondary) – professional proficiency in at least one is essential for negotiations and government liaison.
• Fluent Mandarin for reporting to management and communication with Chinese‑speaking partners; experience working with Chinese counterparts is highly preferred.
• Prior expatriate or project experience in West/North Africa, preferably in mining, exploration, infrastructure, or engineering.
