About the role
The Sheraton Nouakchott Hotel is seeking a motivated Baker/Pastry Chef to join its Food & Beverage team. In this full-time position you will prepare a variety of baked goods and pastries, ensuring they meet the hotel’s quality, presentation and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality guidelines and presentation standards.
- Portion, chop, store and organize ingredients for daily production.
- Operate baking ovens, mixers, measuring tools and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and record temperatures of appliances and food, reporting any issues to management.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, following all sanitation and food‑safety procedures.
- Check the quality and portion sizes of dishes throughout the shift.
- Adhere to company policies on safety, security and personal hygiene.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Less than one year of related bakery or pastry experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lb, stand for long periods and work on varied floor surfaces.
