Directeur administratif et financier (DAF) – Nouakchott

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Director (DAF) to build and lead the finance, procurement and compliance functions of an ambitious agro‑industrial project in Nouakchott. The role will be pivotal during the deployment phase of a €30 M, 5‑year investment across 2 200 ha of irrigated farms.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all finance activities: accounting, month‑end closings, management control, shareholder reporting and cash management.
• Manage international procurement of agricultural equipment, inputs and supplier contracts.
• Coordinate customs procedures, special tax regimes and establishment conventions with Mauritanian authorities.
• Ensure fiscal and social compliance, internal controls and act as the main liaison with external auditors.
• Supervise operational HR, insurance matters and the structuring of administrative processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (Bac+5) in finance, accounting, management or a business school.
• Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a Big Five audit or advisory firm.
• Proven financial management experience, preferably acquired in Europe.
• Mauritanian nationality or willingness to relocate to Nouakchott.
• Fluent in French and Arabic (Hassaniya); English is a plus.
• Strong managerial, communication and integrity qualities.

Required skills

• Mastery of the Mauritanian Chart of Accounts (PCM).
• In‑depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
