Construction Manager – BESS

About the role

INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Mauritania. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure safe, on‑time, and on‑budget execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage BESS construction from site mobilization through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Develop and implement construction plans, work packages and execution sequences.
• Supervise installation of battery containers, PCS, transformers, MV switchgear, HVAC, fire protection, control systems and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
• Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical and BESS activities and ensure effective interface management.
• Monitor productivity, quality, schedule, resources and HSE performance of subcontractors and site teams.
• Track progress against milestones, identify risks and drive recovery actions with Project Controls.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, manufacturer requirements and HSE procedures.
• Oversee equipment delivery, specialized transportation, handling, storage and lifting operations.
• Support pre‑commissioning, testing, energisation, punch‑list closure and final handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 7–10+ years of construction management experience, preferably on utility‑scale BESS or renewable energy projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large‑scale contracts.
