Project Engineer – Utility‑Scale Solar PV

About the role

The Project Engineer will support the delivery of large‑scale solar PV projects in Mauritania, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to ensure safe, on‑time and on‑budget execution.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring and reporting project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and calculations, and coordinate technical clarifications between design teams and site personnel.
• Monitor daily site activities, resolve technical issues, and ensure construction work complies with approved documents and quality standards.
• Coordinate material deliveries, evaluate supplier technical data, and guarantee timely availability of equipment on site.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, track KPIs and support commissioning, punch‑list management and project hand‑over.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience on EPC projects, preferably utility‑scale solar PV, with exposure to international and remote‑site environments.
• Professional proficiency in English; French and Arabic are advantageous.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of utility‑scale Solar PV systems and EPC execution.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
