National Security Coordinator

About the role

The National Security Coordinator supports the National Director in ensuring that World Vision Mauritania’s programs operate within a safe and secure environment. This role leads the development and implementation of security strategies, manages risk assessments, and fosters a culture of safety across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the National Office security strategy in line with World Vision security policies.
• Conduct security risk assessments, maintain country risk ratings, and ensure core security requirements are met.
• Provide leadership to country security focal points and manage security investigations when needed.
• Represent World Vision in local NGO security networks and share relevant information with staff.
• Design and deliver capacity‑building activities, including fire safety, first aid, and security awareness training.
• Prepare regular security reports for the National Office, regional teams, and corporate security.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security management or related fields, preferably in humanitarian or nonprofit settings.
• Ability to support senior leadership and coordinate security focal persons across the country.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and incident reporting.
• Excellent communication skills for networking with external partners and internal staff.
