MENA Programme Officer

About the role

The International Detention Coalition (IDC) seeks a highly organised MENA Programme Officer to support its advocacy and programmatic work across the Middle East and North Africa. Based in Morocco or Mauritania, the officer will work under the MENA Regional Manager to advance rights‑based alternatives to immigration detention.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement regional advocacy campaigns on migration, human rights, and refugee protection.
• Conduct research, produce policy briefs, and contribute to coalition reports.
• Engage with civil‑society partners, government officials, and international bodies to promote alternatives to detention.
• Support the planning and execution of workshops, trainings, and capacity‑building activities.
• Monitor and evaluate programme impact, ensuring compliance with IDC’s strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Strong background in migration advocacy, human rights, or refugee protection.
• Excellent organisational and project‑management abilities.
• Proven experience working in the MENA region, with knowledge of local contexts.
• Fluent in English; French or Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
