Specialty Cook – Hotel Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a Specialty Cook to join our hotel kitchen in Nouakchott. You will work closely with the culinary team to prepare high‑quality dishes that meet our brand standards and delight our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, store, and thaw foods as required.
• Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment.
• Cook dishes following recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness by taste, smell, or piercing, and adjust as needed.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish before service.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen – wash and disinfect work areas, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures.
• Report any product or safety issues to the manager promptly.
• Follow all company safety, security, and uniform policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant culinary experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift items up to 10 lb.
