Mechanical Site Supervisor – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to lead mechanical installation activities on a large‑scale renewable energy project in Mauritania. You will ensure that all mechanical works are executed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily mechanical installation works in line with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project schedules.
• Oversee installation of Solar PV mounting structures, trackers, steel structures and related mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with civil, electrical, structural, QA/QC, HSE and other site teams.
• Manage subcontractors and site crews, monitor progress and report issues, delays and technical concerns.
• Review mechanical drawings and resolve site‑related technical issues with the engineering team.
• Ensure proper alignment, torqueing and handling of mechanical components.
• Coordinate inspections, close punch‑list items and support testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and handover.
• Enforce site HSE procedures, especially lifting and work‑at‑height safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Supervisor or similar role on construction, power or renewable energy projects.
• Previous involvement in utility‑scale Solar PV projects is highly desirable.
• Hands‑on experience with PV mounting structures, trackers, steel structures and site installations.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, specifications and method statements.

Required skills

• Mechanical installation, inspection, alignment and torqueing.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Supervision of mechanical subcontractors and site crews.
• Knowledge of QA/QC processes and HSE safety standards.
• Experience with lifting operations and work‑at‑height procedures.
